West Philadelphia High School
The Sheward Partnership was commissioned by the School District of Philadelphia to serve as the LEED and Sustainability Consultant on the new West Philadelphia High School. The 170,500 square feet, three-story building was constructed at the corner of Chestnut and 49th Streets to accommodate 800 students in grades 9-12. Sustainable features include the use of FSC-certified wood products, stormwater catchment, low-flow plumbing fixtures and ample daylight throughout the core learning areas. The project was awarded LEED Gold certification under the LEED for Schools v2.0 Rating System.
