The Sheward Partnership was commissioned by University Place Associates to serve as the Architect of Record and Sustainability, LEED & WELL Consultant in the construction of this new 240,000 SF core and shell commercial office building. The eight-story building will be located on the northern edge of the University of Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia. The team has established the very aggressive goal of achieving a LEED Platinum rating under the LEED for Core and Shell Development v4 Rating System as well as WELL Core v2 Platinum Certification. The project will incorporate an accessible green roof for the entire building and the use of advanced systems and materials such as a chilled beam HVAC system and automatically tinting electrochromic glass. The project was accepted into the LEED v4 Beta Program among only 112 projects worldwide seeking certification under the newest version of the LEED Rating System.
