Ilana is originally from Miami, Florida but has had the opportunity to live in many states including California, Minnesota, Michigan, and North Carolina. Her architectural education started at Marywood University (Scranton, PA) in which she graduated with a Bachelors of Environmental Design in Architecture then finished her second degree of Bachelors of Architecture with Honors from University of North Carolina Charlotte. Some of her favorite memories from architectural school consist of her 4 months of study abroad in Florence, Italy in which the curriculum was focused on Urban Design. While in Europe, she had the opportunity to travel to many cities and countries.
Shortly after graduating from UNC Charlotte, she moved to Pittsburgh to start her professional career as Architectural Designer at Rothschild Doyno Collaborative for 2 ½ years. In Pittsburgh, she was heavily involved in the AIA community serving as part of the AIA Design Awards committee team and as secretary for the Young Architects forum. Ilana took a gap year as an AmeriCorps volunteer (ArtistYear fellow) to challenger herself, get out of her comfort zone and to give back to communities in need. Volunteering is a big part of how she defines herself. Her love of volunteering has led her to volunteer and serve in Florence Italy, Chichicastenango & San Lucas Guatemala, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Biloxi Missouri, and Clearwater Florida.
In her free time, Ilana loves to travel, volunteer and experience different cultures and languages.
We are happy to have Ilana supporting our architectural staff and excited to see her grow at The Sheward Partnership.
Welcome, Ilana!
