The Sheward Partnership Achieves Just Label

We are proud to announce that The Sheward Partnership has achieved a Just label. Created by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), the Just program is a voluntary disclosure tool for organizations to elevate internal discussions, policies, and procedures and create a common language and measurement framework for social justice issues. Just is a call to action, and The Sheward Partnership is committed to being a more transparent, equitable, and socially just organization. The Just Label requires reporting on a range of organization- and employee-related indicators such as employee health, stewardship, benefits, diversity, inclusion, & equity. Each indicator outlines measurable accountabilities in order for the organization to be recognized at four levels of performance, which are summarized on the label below.

For our firm, the Just Label provided an avenue for open dialogue about our current policies, how they can improve, and what we could add to enhance our employee experience. As we dove deeper into our office handbook and reviewed our company culture, we found that many policies were already common practice but not explicitly stated for employees to see. This was a helpful exercise in transparency as a company to better improve our communication with current and future employees about what we stand for. We were inspired by Just and employee feedback to provide 8 hours of paid time off annually for each employee to participate in volunteer activities as a service to non-profit organizations or charitable groups. We are excited to offer this new benefit at our firm!

Through the Just Label we pledge to contribute to a more socially just and equitable society and we encourage more organizations to consider pursuing this commitment.
