Republic Square | Phase II

The Sheward Partnership was commissioned by LEO A DALY to serve as the LEED and Sustainability Consultant in the design and construction of this new 238,000 square foot core and shell commercial office building. The eight-story building is located just one block from Union Station in downtown Washington, DC. The team achieved the goal of a LEED Gold rating under the LEED 2009 for Core & Shell Development Rating System. Special sustainable design considerations for this project include balancing the integration of ample natural light through the all glass building envelope with delivery of a high-performance building that will yield energy savings to future tenants; exterior landscaping designed to be both durable in an urban environment and native; and a fully equipped fitness center for all building occupants that will include underground secure bicycle storage.
