2.0 University Place

The Sheward Partnership was commissioned by University Place Associates to serve as the LEED and Sustainability Consultant in the design and construction of this new 105,000 square foot core and shell commercial office building. The five-story building is located on the northern edge of the University of Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia. The project achieved the very aggressive goal of achieving a LEED Platinum rating under the LEED for Core & Shell Development v2.0 Rating System. The building incorporated unique green strategies such as a 14,000 square foot accessible green roof, chilled beam heating and cooling, and the collection of stormwater for irrigation. University Place Associates made the ambitious commitment to build only LEED Platinum for commercial office buildings and tenant fit-outs. 2.0 University Place shall be the first multi-certified, multi-tenant LEED Platinum building in the world.
